Bears Bagels: A Passion for Authenticity and Community

Lo “Mama Bear” and Charis “Bear” Yost launched Bears Bagels in 2022, fueled by a love for bagels born

during the COVID-19 pandemic. While cooped up at home, Charis – who had already mastered the art of bread making, was challenged by Lo to tackle making bagels. The results were so exceptional that the duo decided to start a cottage food business in their home kitchen. Demand quickly outgrew their space, prompting a move to a commercial kitchen.

Hilliard Floral Design is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. Located at 4120 Main St., the flower shop supplies single rose arrangements to the Historical Society for funerals of deceased society members. The owner is Christine A. Buroff.
