Powell Prints: A Community-Focused, Family-Owned Business

Powell Prints is a family-owned and operated apparel and promotional products business located in the heart of downtown Old Hilliard. They proudly supply logo shirts for our Historical Society, both for our members and for resale in our museum Gift Shop.

The company began in 1996 when Hilliard resident Larry Powell started printing in his basement with just $250 worth of equipment. As the business flourished, Larry moved operations to a warehouse on Lacon Road. Around 2010, he purchased the historic building at 3991 Main Street to house Powell Prints. Built in 1897, the building was originally the private residence of Graydone and Yvone Theodore.

In 2012, Jaylene Dooley joined the Powell Prints team, working closely with Larry to support the business's continued growth. Five years later, in 2017, Jaylene and her husband, Jim, purchased Powell Prints and the Main Street property from Larry. Recognizing the strong reputation Powell Prints had within the Hilliard community, the Dooleys chose to keep the company's original name.

Jaylene and Jim have embraced their roles as the business owners, finding joy in serving their customers and building relationships with them.

The Dooleys are deeply rooted in the Hilliard community. Longtime members of the Hilliard Nazarene Church on Leap Road, where they’ve been attending for over 35 years. They are dedicated to giving back. Powell Prints actively partners with local charities, including Festa, Patches of Light, and Eyes Wide Open International, as part of their commitment to supporting the community they love.
